The Type 40AQ is a special ½" prepolarised microphone with a frequency response that is optimised to measure sound pressure levels correctly in random, diffuse or reverberant sound fields. This microphone fulfills the requirements in ANSI standard S1.4.
This microphone is is similar to the Type 40AR but, as a prepolarised condenser microphone, it does not require an external polarisation voltage and can be used with G.R.A.S. CCP* preamplifiers such as the Type 26CA.
